What do you get when you mix friends, family, and tailgating? Auburn Football, that's what! We had an awesome time tailgating this week!

Tucker and I at the game! It was chilly!

It was so nice to see our friends Nick, John, and Lacy from Spanish Fort! We don't get to see them enough, and it's such a treat when we do! It was also nice that Auburn pulled out the win over Ole Miss. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to an off week! I'm also looking forward to the Alabama vs. LSU game next weekend! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Back in the Game

I was so excited that I got to go to Tucker's soccer game this week. I'm feeling better and better everyday! The weather was perfect; just a little nip in the air.Tucker's team has improved greatly since the first week! Still they have not won, but they are utilizing teamwork, and that's a giant step. They lost this week 7-5. We are really pulling for a win next week!

You have to give these guys lots of credit. After working long hours all day, they still make time to play. The other teams have time to practice, and Tucker's team doesn't. Just imagine what they could do if they had been practicing! Look out!

Stretching before the game.

The hubs in action!

We are not really used to losing, so being on this team is really teaching Tucker humility. I think we may be back to kickball in no time!

Have a happy Friday!

One of Those Days

Lazy days...I love them! Today has been filled with light house cleaning, laundry, lots of football watching, and a little baking. I'm still in my pj's, no make-up on, enjoying every little minute with my husband and my favorite doggy. These kind of Saturdays don't come around our house very often :)

Since our team is losing, I thought I would take some time to write a quick bloggie. Tucker had his second soccer game this week. Again they lost, but he says improvement was made. The score was 8-6. I wasn't able to attend due to my sickness that seems to be lingering :(, but he did come home in his team jersey. They didn't have them last week, so they just played in plain white t-shirts.

Cuter than Beckham??? I think so <3

He's the man!

Bandit and I wrapped up two days of fall break this week. There was lots of snuggling and napping, which was just what I needed to help me get over my cold.

I just love him <3

Tucker, Bandit, and I hope that you are enjoying your fall just as much as we are!

Soccer Adventures

I may have forgotten to mention that in high school the hubs was a soccer ALL STAR! I don't remember all of his achievements, because they are so many, but I did encourage him to join a community soccer league when the opportunity came up. The games are every Wednesday at 8:30. Yes, that is a little late for us old folks who are usually in bed asleep at 10, but it's a small price to pay for happiness. Tucker has put up with lots of cooking, cleaning, and complaining while I get through grad school, so I think a few hours less of sleep one night a week isn't too much for him to ask.

I was so excited to see him play. I have heard how good he was, but I had never seen him in action. First, let me say that I had no idea how dangerous soccer really is. They were crushing each other's shins. Second, I didn't realize how much running soccer involves. Tucker's legs were pretty much gassed after three runs up and down the field, but he pushed through it. Lastly,I know absolutely nothing about soccer, so there was a lengthy detailing of ever move on the ride back home. The hubs did a terrific job. I have to say I was very impressed! Although his team didn't win, they did improve as the game progressed. I'm sad I won't be able to this Wednesday, but I'm just now recovering from a nasty sinus issue. I can finally breathe!!! I don't want to relapse, so the hubs will be without a cheerleader. Here are some pictures from the first game last week!

It's very rough and physical, as you can see!

Taking a break, but focusing on the game. No time for wives trying to take silly photos :)

Some teammates!

I plan to take my camera next time. These pictures aren't that good, because they were taken with the iphone camera. Sadly, fall break is over today, and I'll be heading back to school tomorrow. I have tried to talk Tucker into letting me be a stay at home mom to Bandit, but he laughed in my face :( HA!

Tiger Bait

This weekend Auburn played the Florida Gators. This was also the weekend of our big tailgate. I won't say it's necessarily ours. Technically, we did absolutely nothing to help set up, nor did we help put anything away. We brought our chairs, cooler, and toffee bars though! Kate and John, you guys did a great job! It was another success!

We bumped into Kat and Rae Ann! What a surprise!

We bleed orange and blue :)

Toomer's Corner

I'm so glad we won! We had a wonderful time with our friends and family. Unfortunately, this weekend left me sick. I'm battling what seems to be somekind of sinus funk. It's also my fall break. I have two full days off, and I'm stuck in the house sick and unable to breathe! It figures, but at least I'm not battling this at school :) Stay tuned, friends! Tomorrow I'll be blogging about Tucker's soccer adventures!

First Annual Family Cook Off

Saturday, we had the first Wallace/Boswell/Fuller Annual Chili Cook Off! Although Tucker and I didn't win, we do believe from the left overs that we were the true winners. Kate Wallace may have won the battle, but we definitely won the war!

The participants. Me, Kathie Wallace, Phyllis, Emily, and Kate

Tucker had koozies made.

My sweet husband loves koozies, and he was so very thoughtful to have these made for this occasion. It will be another one to add to our ever growing collection! The competition was fierce, but in the end there could only be one true winner. Congratulations to Kate! Not only did she win the competition, but she also gets to make her award winning chili on Christmas Eve.

Two of my favs <3

The judges. Thanks to John, Al, and Steve!

After the judging!!! We were all stuffed!

Kate signing the banner.

Tucker and I were told that our chili was the most traditional. I'm not sure if that hurt us or helped us in the end. We made 8 to 10 serving of chili and hardly had any left!

Yum!

Even better with corn bread!

We owe a special thank you to Mymama for helping us out and letting us practice at her house. She also came up with the secret weapon (Mexican corn bread)! We had a wonderful time! It was another great weekend spent with wonderful company! We will remember these moments with family always!

We are still deciding what we will cook next year. Enjoy your victory now Kate, because next year we will not be second ranked!

I Heart Fall!

Sunday, Tucker and I went to the farmer's market in Opelika to get supplies for our annual fall porch display. It's one of my favorite fall tradtions! I remember always doing this with my grandmother. Khat, Ashley, and I would pile into the car and help her pick out pumpkins, mums, and the perfect bale of hay. We only arranged the mums ten different times, but we somehow seemed to get it perfect every year.

I'm so very happy to share one of my family tradtions with my sweet husband. He doesn't complain at all! I walk around slowly, inspecting every pumpkin and mum. I'll pick one, Tucker will put it in the shopping cart, then I change my mind, and he puts it right back. He understands how important the perfect fall display is to me!

We also practiced our chili recipe yesterday afternoon, and I must say I do believe we have the winner! I'll post pictures next weekend!

Fall Fun

I know today wasn't the first day of fall, but it certainly felt like it. To celebrate this wonderful weekend of doing absolutely nothing, I went to Spa Auburn and had a massage and facial. My massage was awesome! It was just what I needed after months of stress. This was my first facial, and I must say I can't believe I haven't tried one before. My skin is glowing! I'll be having another :)

Tucker awoke early this morning to play golf. His range finder came in this past week, and he was very excited about getting to use it. He also met a guy about our age, and he and his wife go to our church. It's so exciting to meet new people, especially newly married couples that we can relate to.  I'm excited about meeting them, and maybe even joining their small group when things around the Boswell house hold slow a bit.

In keeping with the celebration of fall and since it was cool outside, I decided to make a big pot of Taco Soup. It is so delicious on a cool fall/winter night. Here's the recipe!

Taco Soup

Ingredients:
1 lb. hamburger meat
2 cans each of the following: corn, pinto beans, black beans, kidney beans
1 can Rotel
1 can chicken broth
1 packet of ranch seasoning
1 packet of taco seasoning

Mix all ingredients in a large stock pot. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 45 minutes. Garnish with a dollop of sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Eat with Fritos or tortilla chips. Enjoy!

Yummy!

And for dessert we had peanut butter chip cookies! Extra yummy!

We are so glad our Auburn Tigers won against South Carolina this week! Tomorrow after church we will be getting our annual fall display together! Did I mention that I love fall???

And don't think we forgot... we are still preparing for the chili cook off!!! Practice begins tomorrow!
