Many Firsts

This year is going to be so much fun! I love blogging about all of Hudson's "firsts". Last week Hudson went to the doctor for the first time. He weighs 10 lbs. 7 oz. and is 22.5 inches long. He's getting too big too fast! The visit went very well until the nurse had to stick his heel. She needed five drops of blood, and they had to be drops. Hudson didn't bleed well the first time, so she had to stick him again! It was so hard to see my baby screaming and in pain. I just wanted to scoop him up and protect him. If the nurse said she had to prick him again, I was snatching my naked baby up, and we were outta there! She's lucky I didn't punch her in the face when she was squeezing my baby's foot and making him cry. What can I say? Momma bear has arrived, and she's here to stay!

Hudson's doctor is Dr. Johnson at the Pediatric Clinic. He was really nice and patient. He answered all of my questions, and I had a lot of questions. Some were silly, but it's better to be safe than sorry. He assured me Hudson was perfect in every way (I already knew that :)) He even said that Hudson made his job very easy, because there wasn't a thing wrong with him. Hudson didn't even cry...that is until the mean nurse came in to prick him. He also got his second Hepatitis B vaccine. He was such a good boy! We went home immediately where he enjoyed a nice warm bottle and many snuggles on the couch.

Saturday night, Hudson went to his first karaoke party at the Elk's Lodge. His Granddaddy John loves to sing karaoke (so does his Momma). He loves karaoke so much, he even has his own karaoke machine at his house! And I'm not talking about the cheap ones you can get at Wal-mart. The one he has is the real deal! He has over 75,000 songs on the hard drive! Earlier in the week, we went to Granddaddy's house for a practice session. I was a little worried about taking him considering this would be his first outing at night, but  Hudson was a perfect angel the entire time. Everyone thought he was a cutie. He stole the show!

 Enjoying karaoke "under the stars".

Hudson also enjoyed his first visit to church this weekend. He stayed in the nursery while we enjoyed the church service in the sanctuary. He slept the entire time! Once again everyone thought he was a cutie, and bragged about what an angel baby he was. We liked to have never gotten out of there, because everyone wanted to see him! It was 12 :20 before we left!

I was attempting to make my arm look skinny...didn't work:)
Look at those handsome boys!

This boy has stolen my heart!

First Father's Day

We celebrated Tucker's first Father's Day this past weekend. It was such a fun and special weekend for us, but especially for Tucker. We had a busy weekend planned, but we enjoyed every minute. Saturday, Tucker played golf. He hasn't gotten to play golf since Hudson was born. After that, we met Kathie, Granddaddy John, and Carol for lunch. We were already in Opelika, so we decided to run some errands. Good thing we have such a good baby. He never cried or got fussy, and we were out all afternoon. We are so blessed!

 Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

 Twins!

Saturday night, we prepared to head to my Grandpa's for Father's Day. This year I made two homemade banana puddings, one for Grandpa and one for Tucker. Usually Tucker has to share Grandpa's, but since he's a Daddy now and the sweetest, most handsome man I know, I thought he deserved his very own. Sunday morning, Hudson and I let Daddy sleep late while we made him breakfast. He had muffins, eggs, and bacon. Yum! Then it was off to Grandpa's for lunch!

She's going to be an excellent babysitter :)

We hope you had a great weekend, Daddy! We love you immensely!!!

One Month

I can't believe Hudson is one month old already. People told me to enjoy this time, because it goes by so quickly. I'm coming to realize that those people were right. My sweet boy is growing like a weed right before my eyes.

At one month, Hudson can already hold his head up. The stronger he gets, the longer he can hold it up. His orange paci is his favorite, and he always wants it before he goes to sleep. The funny thing is that he spits it out, and it somehow always ends up in his ear. Poor baby! We are starting to notice that he gives us "real" smiles. At least we hope they are real smiles and not just gas :) He stills sleeps most of the day, although he is starting to be awake a little more each day.

Hudson weighs 10 pounds, I think. I weighed myself, then weighed myself with him. The difference was 10 pounds. We go to the doctor next week for a more accurate weighing. He eats 4 ounces every three hours, although I've been noticing that he seems to get fussy that last hour. I do believe we might up our formula intake very soon. Hudson really is such a good baby. He only gets up once during the night to eat. It's usually around 2 or 3. Then he gets up at about 6. Not too bad from what we have heard from other parents.

He hates baths and diaper changes. He usually sprays his Daddy, but he got me, the wall, and the pack n play yesterday. Sometimes he even gets himself! He doesn't like changing clothes, but he loves his swing and his bouncy seat.

 He has the funniest expressions!

He a natural in front of the camera!

 "Are we done yet, Mom?"

<3

We are enjoying watching Hudson grow. Everyday he does something new or funny. We love him more than words can express. Everyday is an adventure, and Tucker and I are learning very quickly. We are slowly buy surely getting the hang of this parenting thing!

Lake Weekends

Our favorite weekends are weekends spent at the lake. This past weekend we went to the lake to celebrate Mymama's birthday. Celebrating her birthday this year made me think about what a difference a year makes. At this time last year,we had just found out that Emily and Andy were having a baby, Tucker and I were trying to have a baby, and the lake renovations had not even been thought of yet. Two special babies have changed all of our worlds.

 Playing on the quilt.

I wish I looked this cute in my bathing suit :)

 Such a doll!

I think it's safe to say that Hudson loves the lake ;)

We had a blast celebrating Mymama's birthday, spending time with family, and snuggling sweet babies. Life doesn't get much better than this!

Photo Shoot

My angel baby had his first photo session this past Monday. I have to say, I was a bit nervous about how he would do...you never know with an infant. I shouldn't have been worried though. Little Hudson is a natural in front of the camera.

Jamie Burnett is the photographer who took Hudson's infant pictures. I highly recommend her. She was so patient. She even fed and burped Hudson at one point. We took a lot of naked pictures...who doesn't love naked newborn pics?!?! As soon as she asked me to undress him, he immediately peed all over me. My pants were soaked, but thank goodness it didn't get any where else. I spent the next 3 1/2 hours pee soaked and stinking to high heaven. Totally worth it though :)

Here are a few pics that I took during our session...

I'm no photographer, obviously. Here is a sneak peek of the pics Jamie took.

I can't wait to see all of them. It's going to be so hard to choose which ones we want to purchase. I have a feeling Jamie is going to make a lot of money off of the Boswell's :)

Hudson's First Lake Trip

At less than two weeks old, Hudson made his first trip to the lake. He enjoyed sleeping out on the porch, meeting sweet friends and family, and being snuggled by his Mymama and Shug. Tucker and I love the lake. It's like a second home for us. It was so nice to go and relax after the hustle and bustle of delivery and bringing Hudson home.

This was an extra special trip to the lake because of all of the sweet friends that came to visit. Tucker's best friends from Clarksville, Ben and Clay along with Ben's wife Chelsea, came to see us. We had a wonderful visit. I know it meant a lot to Tucker to have his best friends make such a trip. We also got to visit with Aunt Katie Rae, Uncle Larry, Aunt Diane, and cousin Rae Ann. Hudson was surrounded by so many that love him dearly!

I'm in love with these two!

 Enjoying some porch time.

We loved seeing Ben and Clay!

Clay is a natural!

We are going back to the lake this weekend to celebrate Mymama's birthday. Hudson can't wait to enjoy more porch time and spend time with his favorite cousin, Prudence. We know those two will enjoy the lake together for years to come. We can't wait to watch them grow up together!
