War Eagle Babies

Last weekend, Emily, Andy, and little Miss PR visited us here in Auburn. We had a blast!

They are already up to something!

Some how we were able to fit two car seats, four adults, two strollers, and two diaper bags into one car! Making a simple trip downtown isn't so simple anymore, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Pru having fun at Cheeburger, Cheeburger.

Dancing on the table! Oh my!

Getting the perfect picture on Samford lawn was a little difficult.
Sweet cousins!

These daddies aren't ashamed to push a stroller and hold a diaper bag.
They are enjoying the dad life.

War Eagle!

I know I say this all of the time, but seriously life doesn't get any better than this!

Major Changes

It's been a while since I've blogged. Things have been crazy in the Boswell house. I had to return to work on Thursday, but I actually worked all week. Tucker and I decided to go ahead and send Hudson to day care on Monday. Our thoughts were that it would help us all transition to our new schedule. While it did prepare us, it also took a toll on this Momma. Wednesday, the daycare called to inform me that Hudson had been exposed to the chicken pox. Another child in his room had his chicken pox vaccine and ended up getting chicken pox from it. Total panic. I called the Pediatric Clinic right away to see if they needed to see Hudson. There was really nothing they could do. Hudson is too little to receive the vaccine. We will just pray and cross  our fingers that he doesn't get it. I was just about over that little mishap until I picked Hudson up on Thursday afternoon. His teacher, Ms. Marcia, alerted me to a rash that had formed on his legs. It looked just like ring worm, ya'll! Again, total panic. This time we drove straight to the Pediatric Clinic.

I just knew this was the beginning stages of chicken pox or he was covered in ring worm. Thank goodness Dr. Johnson was still there. He informed us that this particular rash was very common and nothing to worry about. (Not chicken pox or ring worm! Whew!) It's an allergic reaction to something, we just don't know what. Dr. Johnson called it erythema multiforme. He told us it would get worse before it got better. I decided I was definitely not going to work on Friday, even though Hudson was not contagious. After all that stress and worry, this Mommy needed some extra snuggle time with my baby. Dr. Johnson also wanted to see Hudson again on Friday morning. I prayed and prayed that Hudson's rash would get better. God is so good! When we woke up Friday morning the rash was much better. Dr. Johnson said he must have had a mild reaction. As of today, the rash is completely gone!

So, this week has been hard. I have questioned myself over and over again. I'm sure other working moms go through the same thing. I felt like a horrible mother for working and sending my child to day care. It's absolutely not the day care's fault. All of these unfortunate events were completely out of their control. I just hate they all happened in the same week. A long weekend was exactly what we needed!

On a happy note, Hudson has been sleeping consistently through the night, so a few weeks ago, Tucker and I decided it was time for Hudson to sleep in his crib upstairs in his room. We bought a monitor with a 2000 foot range. Ha! You could hear a flea jump across the carpet with that thing. Of course, it stays on my night stand with the volume turned all the way up. Hudson has made the transition seamlessly. We may have to go ahead and order the bumper though. They recommend that you don't get the bumper now because of SIDS, but Hudson's little arms and legs always somehow end up hanging out of the crib. That boy sleeps in a hurry!

Hudson's first night in his room.

This is how we found him the next morning!

I'm going back to work tomorrow. I pray that we have an uneventful week :)

Little Toes in the Water

Last weekend, both babies had their first dip in the lake! Prudence loved every minute; Hudson was a bit skeptical at first. I'm sure when he's Prudence's age (almost 7 months! seriously, where does the time go?!?!) he will love it just as much as she did. We had to try twice with Hudson. The first time we waited a little too close to nap time. He was too sleepy for swimming and got fussy. We decided to try again after his nap. The second attempt went much better. Prudence was too cute in her hot air balloon bathing suit. Hudson opted for a speedo:) He's already a stud!

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.

 Emily, Andy, and Pru

Hudson and Big Al in their floppy hats!
 Three handsome Boswell's!

Hudson's second dip in the lake:)

 Ahhhhhh! So realxing!

 Loving the lake!

 Splashing my feets!

Best friends already.

 This girl is a star!

The grands kept the babies so we could go out on the boat. It was my first boat ride of the summer!
<3 my sis-in-law!

I love this boy!

This is just the first of many wonderful memories that will be made at the lake. Our hope is that Hudson and Prudence will love and cherish their time at the lake as much as we do. We can't wait to go back!

A Weekend Visit

Tucker didn't have to work Friday! Yay! Hudson and I enjoyed an extra day with our favorite Daddy. It also gave us an opportunity to get to Emily and Andy's early to see our favorite niece and cousin, Pru. We decided a few weeks ago that we wanted to go to Calera to spend some time with them. It's rarely just us four, I mean, us six :) We enjoyed every minute of our sweet time together.

Saturday morning, the men watched the babies so Emily and I could do some shopping at the Galleria. I desperately needed some school clothes to wear. That afternoon, we headed back so that Andy and Tucker could play golf at Timberline. While they were out, we all watched movies, played on the floor with toys, and snuggled. My favorite kind of afternoon :)

I love these two stinkers!

Watch out, Hudson!

Two Months

What a difference a month makes! Hudson has changed so much already in such a short amount of time. The time has flown by, which makes me sad. It's a reminder to live in the present and enjoy every precious moment with my sweet boy. We have enjoyed the slow easy days of summer, but life is about to get busy again in just a few short weeks.

This week I had to go back to work for two days of workshops. During this time Hudson went to daycare. It was his very first visit, and a good trial run for all of us. Of course, Hudson and Daddy did just fine. Tucker had to go back to work the week after Hudson was born, so he's used to having to leave him. I, on the other hand, did not do so well. Tucker doesn't have to be at work as early as I do, so he will drop Hudson off at daycare, and I will pick him up. On Tuesday, I called Tucker on the way to daycare, and I text  messaged him before he even had a chance to get there. Miss Deanna said I could call as many times as I wanted, but I tried very hard all day not to. I don't want to be "that mom". Sadly, I have already become "that mom", and there is no turning back.

Hudson's first day of daycare.

Hudson was an angel both days at daycare. His teachers just bragged about him saying what a good baby he was. Of course, I already knew that. :) He will start daycare full time in August. Until then, this Momma is soaking up every minute with this little guy.

Hudson also had his 2 month check up this week. He got a great report from Dr. Johnson! He weighs 12 pounds 11 ounces and is 23.5 inches long. He's in the 50-75% range for weight and the 75% range for height. I'm so proud of my little guy. He also had to get 5 vaccinations. One was oral, and the others were shots. My poor baby had to have two shots in each leg. I thought it would be easier this time, but I've learned it never gets easier watching your child in pain. Needless to say, Hudson and I both cried. It's pretty sad when the pediatric nurse has to console the parent. I'm also pretty sure I'm not the first mommy she's had to console.

I was concerned Hudson might have some adverse reactions to his shots, like fever and irritability. Thank goodness, I sent Tucker to get some children's Tylenol the night before. When we got home from the doctor Hudson was napping. When he awoke, he was pitiful. It's funny how I can tell the difference in his cries. This cry was a whiny, fussy cry. I went ahead and gave him the Tylenol. He slept on and off most of the afternoon.

 Before shots.

After shots.

I held and snuggled this boy all afternoon. After a good night's rest, he's all smiles this morning!

At two months old, Hudson is eating 6 ounces of formula every 3 hours. He has also started sleeping through the night. Last week, he slept through the night twice, and this week he slept through the night three times. We hope this trend continues. Maybe in the next two weeks, Hudson will be ready to sleep in his crib upstairs in his room. He is such a happy baby! He's the happiest in the morning. I'm not sure where he gets that from, because neither Tucker or I are morning people. Hudson loves to listen to me sing songs. He likes, "If You're Happy and You Know It", and "Patty Cake" the best. He also likes it when we make funny noises with our mouths. He also loves to listen to Mommy and Daddy read him lots of books.

We just love this little guy to a million little pieces! We can't get enough of him!

Rainy Days & Rainy Nights

There's an eighty percent chance of rain today and a fifty percent chance of rain tomorrow. I don't remember another summer when there has been so much rain fall. The sun peeks out every now and then giving me some chance of hope for a sunny day. My grandmother always said "This is a day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it." While I do enjoy the occasional rainy day, and I'm so glad we are not in a drought, I would like to have at least one sunny day soon.

It's been a while since I've blogged so I have a lot to cover. For the fourth of July, we went to the lake. We went up Thursday morning and left Friday afternoon. When the fourth falls on a Thursday, Tucker doesn't get the following Friday off. Friday morning he got up early to head back to work. Hudson and I stayed and met Tucker at home later that afternoon.

The lake was fun despite the rain. It definitely didn't feel like July in Alabama. The weather was nice and cool. Unfortunately, there was no swimming, skiing, or floating in the lake. No fireworks...bummer. I had planned to let Hudson dip his toes in the lake for the first time, but the weather was too cool. Maybe at our next visit he can get his little piggies wet.

Happy Fourth of July from the Fuller's and Boswell's!

 Me and my sweet boy!

We were all very excited that Will came to visit us all the way from California. Will got to meet Prudence and  Hudson for the first time. He had his hands full at times, that's for sure! We only wish Uncle Will could have stayed longer!

 Looking a wee bit nervous.

 Will and Emily

Shug enjoying some back porch sittin' with PR.

Pru really wanted to know what that fuzz was on Uncle Will's face.

 Pru with her Aunt Kathie.

Bandit had the most fun of all of us. Tucker and his dad installed an electric dog fence that allowed Bandit to run free. He learned very quickly where the boundary line was. It was hard for me to watch, but I knew it would be the best thing for him in the long run. I was right! He loved being able to run and play outside. He spotted some chipmunks and spent the day trying to catch them. They outsmarted him at every turn.

This is how Bandit looked after a long day of chipmunk hunting. Bless him!

Hudson and Prudence had matching onesies. It's the first of many!

 Prudence with her Aunt Manda.

Look at that bikini! Too cute!

Love this chickadee!
